Illinois Whitetail Hunting
We welcome you to join us at Golden Triangle Whitetails. Our Illinois Whitetail Hunting properties have been managed for big mature whitetail deer for 25 years now. Our area is known for some of the best whitetail deer hunting in the country. We are the oldest whitetail hunting outfitter under the same management in our area and probably the state! The terrain here in Illinois consists of rolling small hills, CRP, and farm fields. Our whitetail hunting land is 65% woods and totals 13,000 +/- acres.
Hunting Season in Illinois
We offer several whitetail deer Hunting Seasons in Illinois including archery, crossbow, shotgun, muzzleloader, and straight wall cartridge, new for 2023. All season bow hunting is Oct 1st - Jan 14th. During that time, we run 4 whitetail hunts and a late season Jan 1st - 14th crossbow deer hunt. Our gun hunting seasons are always the 3-day weekend before thanksgiving, and the 4-day weekend after Thanksgiving to keep the hunting pressure to a minimum, we only bow hunt the 4 weeks prior to our first gun hunting season, this is the pre rut and rut season. The first week is a 6-day whitetail deer hunt, the other 3 are 5-day whitetail deer hunts with 2 days in between. Tags are needed to whitetail deer hunt in Illinois. We are a license vendor, so we take care of and make sure all our hunters get a tag. Draw dates for nonresidents start May 15th each year.

Average temperatures during whitetail hunting seasons vary here in Illinois. Bow hunting season is 20 - 50 degrees, the first gun hunting season is 20 - 50 degrees, the second gun and muzzleloader hunting seasons are 10 - 30 degrees, late crossbow hunting season is 10 degrees and below so please plan out your hunting clothing depending on the time of year and it’s always best to layer.

Our food plots range from 2 - 8 acres and consist of corn, beans, green fields, and some 1-acre clover plots. There is no other whitetail deer outfitter that has as many GOOD food plots as we have for our hunters!!
Illinois Deer Hunting Guides
What makes our hunting facility so unique and special is our Illinois Deer Hunting Guides. Most have been with us for 12 - 18 years on the same tract of ground. Our whitetail deer hunting guides have never been allowed to hunt any of our properties. Each hunting guide will typically have 3 hunters on his 800 – 1,000 acres, that he alone guides on. Our hunting guides live in the area, so they constantly scout their farms. We also have 550+ cameras going to help with that process. Cameras tell us that certain whitetail deer exist on our farms, not how to hunt them.

Your whitetail deer hunting guide will take care of field dressing and processing your trophy whitetail buck. We will always take lots of great grin and grip pictures. We have a taxidermist on staff who can mount your trophy whitetail buck. We will ship your mount or bring it with us to the next sport show we attend near you for pick up.
Deer Hunting Lodge
We have one big main Deer Hunting Lodge that is 4,800 square feet where meals are served and then 4 modular homes along with 2 nice hunting lodges recently built just for hunters. Each hunting lodge has its own changing room so hunters can store their gear and outside layers of clothing before heading out for their whitetail deer hunt. We also have a shooting range for both gun and bow. All hunting lodges are smoke free.

We have a full-time chef and a cleaning staff that cleans every day. Beds are made daily with hunting lodges cleaned. We serve hot lunches, and great dinners. Hunters are encouraged to whitetail hunt all day so each night they fill out a lunch menu for the next day’s deer hunt, and it will be waiting for them in their refrigerators in their hunting lodges. Phone service is good. In the main hunting lodge and in most hunting lodges, but not all, we have Wi-Fi.
